"The moment you give up,
is the moment you've failed"
TIP OF THE WEEK
Originally from Danbury, Connecticut and raised in Decatur, Georgia, a suburb northeast of Atlanta, Soleil Allen is a multi-faceted powerhouse who has strategically balanced
careers as both an entertainment professional and a corporate executive. Early in life, Soleil found her passion in music as a member and section leader of the infamous Southwest DeKalb high school band. She thrived in a creative environment,
which led her to major in communications at Georgia State University. As a result of her hustle and passion, the ambitious college student landed multiple internships at radio
stations 1480 AM WYZE under the leadership of Eli Smith and at 104.7 FM with Harold Lamar. Soleil’s tireless work ethic eventually paid off. She earned the opportunity to host
community events such as “Stand for Children” at Atlanta’s Centennial Olympic Park where she developed a wide variety of skills in other departments including marketing
Soleil’s next promotion came in the form of motherhood, which led her to seek and secure employment in senior management with Reed Construction Data (now Construct Connect). While she has flourished in her position for 14+ years, she also needed to indulge her creative energies. Soleil found that outlet as an event curator for SoulFoodATL, which is an RnB mixer for independent artists held at iLounge in East Atlanta Village every 4th Tuesday. She also travels to Greenville, SC as the curator, and creative director of the monthly mixer the LinkUp, that not only connects artists from the city with prominent Atlanta tastemakers but also provides a platform for them to showcase their talent. As fate would have it, her son “Big Havi” inherited her artistic DNA and is a rap artist signed to the record label Commission. She serves as “momager” to Big Havi,
but she also began navigating the careers of Ricco Barrino, D’Rick and ATL Drummer Girl. SoSo hopes to continue expanding, and eventually take her platforms to other markets, while continuing to give artist opportunities teaching them tools to help them reach success in their music careers.
